Well, Valentine’s Day coming up. Why not do something colorful for your better half, best friend, who ever you think need some tender attention… kick out the pink pastels and add some tropical notes, some hot, sweet, something new. No starters or main courses, skip dessert, make it easy: make some fruity cocktails (and you can make them super fruity with no alcohol).
#1 it’s a Singapore Sling turned tropical, or “made more tropical” with the addition of the papaya (the seeds are edible and will lend a peppery bite—totally up to you— take it or leave it) and some Serrano chilies for heat. I don’t know if the Long Bar at “Raffles Hotel” in Singapore would add Papaya & Serrano Sling to their list? Probably not! But I like this version, and I can feel a bit of peanut peels crunching under my feet while sipping it… And since my husband and I went there on our honeymoon this drink will be our 2014 Valentine cocktail.
#2 is full of blood orange against basil and it becomes the margarita meets French kiss cocktail wauuu… what a nice combination…
#3 is a very diffenrent cocktail where east meets west – a vodka chiller with dragon fruit plus melon and rosemary! Surprisingly good.

I was looking for some new tasty summer drinks and found 1) jax coco which is the purest, premium coconut water which they call ‘fluid of life’ I would add crushed ice or… a vanilla ice scoop? 2) Bathtub Gin I’m totally old fashion about Gin – it’s for GT’ies or Dry Martinis – and it has to be a good gin for both type of drinks – Cool martinis: look here. I might go with a new tonic like this one here to bring the best out of the Gin in a GT 3) Chase & rhubarb is fine British vodka with a splash of sour-sweet, pink rhubarb. I imagine it is perfect as a mixer with Prosecco or a glass of Champagne mmmm…. that’s a pretty + refreshing summer drink. Found them all here. HAVE a nice weekend.

This week has been so exiting. So many lovely, edible jobs which soon will hit the stores. I deserve some time off so it’s okay not to do much this Friday afternoon but to spend it on the sunny side with a single glass of Sauvignon Blanc or some other girly drink. Beautiful bottles don’t you think.

So it’s Friday and last week I started my weekend with this classic, super dry Martini enjoyed in good company with my brother on Kalaset in Copenhagen. May I recommend to start your weekend extra dry (part good Gin + part dry Vermout!), shaken – not stirred – just add some grande Spanish olives. Have a nice weekend.
