What I would like to do? As in right now? Dress up to a garden party full of balloons, family, pastel tables, jazzy tones, finger foods, good friends, noisy happy kids, BBQ, bubbles and sun, sun, sun.
Take my time and a deep breath by the sea.
Invite my kids to our tiny local cup cake & java shop.
Take some more time off …
Go somewhere with palmtrees! Not birch trees (which I’m very allergic to, and they are killing my eyes these days).
I go for a cup of mocca … a good one outside in the sun … not bad at all. Adios.

Petite crisp meringue kisses from Jamie Oliver’s RECIPEASE lovely edible shop in London – so sweet they look painted in pastels and mmmm… I like the different flavors my favorites ones: the crunchy green pistachio + the pink berry one. (Amazing they all survived the way back to Copenhagen in my bag – the pink berry almost did not!).

Last weekend we went to get inspired in London. I don’t have a favorite spot in London, I have many! King’s Road in Chelsea still have small boutiques and cosy tea+coffee-places, very good bars and restaurants and some very nice shops but we needed some steamy Flat Whites (goodbye Macchiatos, it is all about Flat Whites now!) plus some sweeeeet on the side and chose above L’Eto Caffe on King’s Road (L’Eto actually have several caffes in London – find them here – I like they kept an intimate atmosphere) . A small place, with oh so very edible windows (look above!) the room was totally packed, full of joy and talk, tea, latte, sparkling pellegrino, chardonnay, and a lovely salad buffet for those who do not have a sweet tooth. We had some perfect Flat Whites, and Jesper a fruit tart like above with raspberry… yummi! I chose toasted coconut bread with chocolate spread – not bad at all! Take a peek before/after at Habitat on the other side of King’s Road, lovely! More about King’s Road look here.
Emma had her sixth birthday the first of May. She always chooses how her birthday cake should look like. This year she wanted “a green grass meadow with lots of flowers on”. My son’s choice at his birthday a month ago was Tigger (Emma’s wish was a bit more realistic!). I had one evening (+night!) to make it including marzipan flowers. It was filled with an oh so good italian lemon cream and I made a green fluffy vanilla topping (it was delicious but I’m not sure it should turn out that creamy!?!). The girl loved it! The mum was rather boosted after the party.
Love when good quality gets a change to stand out. Not only in taste but also visually. Of course it requires courage. The Sprinkles Ice Cream shop in Beverly Hills in LA opened last year and not just as a small cute boutique with handmade quality oh no, with strict outstanding design plus an ATM-24-cup-cake-service! There’s no excuse for not remembering sweet goodies, you can buy yummi take away cup cakes from Sprinkles‘ ATM machine 24/7.
Sprinkles is not just standing out visually but their menu is also more than (good!) american ice cream mmmm… home made ice cream sandwiches, signature cones in raspberry red! I just have to visit one day and explore all of it myself.

I have a client which I have made a whole bunch of design for which includes a cupcake! I’ll show you the design when it is ready. We needed a picture of a very specific cup cake, and Mariam Mistry the owner of Serenity Cupcakes made it for us. While the special designed cupcake is posing in front of a camera bought some extra fine Serenity cupcakes here at home (the above picture) full of banana, butterflies and shiny pearls = a Banana Bumblebee and a Liquorice Devil with liquorice powder and creamy topping. Mmmmm… smells a bit like summer to me. Cannot wait to show the kids! Visit Serenity Cupcakes in Copenhagen right here.
