I have been working this past month with some very interesting food producers and while my package design will be printed and organised to hit the stores next month I will take a Fall break! The countdown for a trip with my girlfriends next week to Barcelona can begin. Meet me at the food vendors, at the food markets, at the beach, the many delicious local restaurants and at the creative sights. I cannot wait.

Award Nominated

Se mere design her.

HURRAY… how nice! I’m just been nominated for BEST FOOD PACKAGING AWARD 2013 by MAD+MEDIER for Niels & Grete’s Organic Eggs! More pictures of the design here.

I was asked half a year ago if I would make design for an organic eggs packaging. It has been some long and exciting months since then. You do not just bump into the big supermarkets and get your products on the shelfs. But Niels & Grete took a design portfolio with them and they succeed – Dansk Supermarket wanted their eggs (find shops here)! The result of a lot of communication strategies, work with some very skilled webexperts, photographers and Yummi Design’s pr + communication expert Katrine, Niels & Grete’s Organic Eggs came on supermarket shelves this week. It hasn’t been a difficult process because working with such passionated people as Niels & Grete are incredibly rewarding. One thing is they are so passionated about their hens, and organic farming but they are professionals and not afraid to jump into something new and to stand out. It is such a great pleasure to help introduce organic fresh, quality eggs from happy hens. Visit Niels & Grete and their hens on their farm in Hinge – right here. Enjoy!

Fäviken restaurant is one of the restaurants in Scandinavia which I find really interesting. It is part of the trendy Nordic cuisine and is headed by chef Magnus Nilsson. He has been trained by some of the best restaurants in France (L’Arpege and L’Astrance) and he has opened Fäviken Restaurant in one of the most cold places, in the middle of the Swedish woods, 750 km north of Stockholm. The menu are far from ordinary and filled with local wild ingredients such as moose, eel, hare, wild herbs and mushrooms. The restaurant is named to be “The Best Rising Star of Nordic Cooking” of The Guardian among others. I would love to have that extraordinary experience to visit Fäviken Restaurant once. Until then, I’m really excited that chef Magnus Nilsson has chosen to publish a book about his Nordic restaurant adventure in the woods. So until we are the lucky ones on Fäviken’s attractive, 3 month long reservation list, I will enjoy chef Nilsson cookbook at home. Enjoy Fäviken, the landscape and chef Nilsson in the below film. (PHOTO: Fäviken, published by Phaidon October 2012).
