Just ten years ago cow milk was “just milk” and still as normal as butter or eggs in every fridge. Today Google friendly health wisdom makes it a jungle to figure out: WHAT it is good / bad to you and your family.
I miss the GOT MILK campaigns – just enjoy, don’t care, relax, drink milk because (…or if) you love it.
Back in the days I was called “milky girl” by my mom as in: I loooooved milk. Today a few, or some summers later, milk – as in cow milk – has become the devil in the fridge or in the tummies.
↑ I’m not totally happy about the “diet GOT MILK” posters ↑ – the 90’ties “perform to your max – do your best – loose weight” strategies… focus today will probably be a bit more mind based ; ) Last year to many kids at the age of ONLY ten had stress symptoms, early stages of depressions, anxiety attacks and eating disorders. Due to living after the most simple rules: 1000% perfect without any mistakes. That’s scary.
My kids don’t have a clue of who the stars are on these posters : ) as in: no “YouTube-celebs” = it’s a BYTbefore Youtube campaign!+ before smartphones and SoMe. And it is also before vegan-veggie-flexi-pesci-eat-organic-clean became the new black.
But is it bad / good / perfect? To me, to you, us? Who knows? And. What is next?
I don’t drink gallons of milk everyday. A bit of good taste and nice organic quality everyday = basics of my healthy lifestyle. I enjoy full fat cow milk in my coffee. I have tried all kinds of plant alternatives, and the result = no happy coffee breaks to me but a lack-of-taste – I was missing the full fat flavour (please notice: I have all the respect in the world for you who love plant milk ; ). Delicious coffee = a happy mind = VERY important ; )
I would love a fair fun fact MILK campaign (bold with clear basic evidens please) – with a no BS focus on the animal vs veggie-plant debates – for kids to understand and remember that a strong healthy growing body, teeth and happy mind is alpha omega.
Winter in Copenhagen is more grey and rain than high blue sky and bright snow. Makes us go inside and make… make all kinds of creative stuff or just bake, or create delicious slow cooked meals – or “just” a iced coffee with homemade vanilla syrup on the side – This One is by my favorite foodie + photographer Eva aka Adventures in Cooking.
I always enjoy my morning coffee. Gooood coffee. Organic and fresh roasted by Simon – our local barista. I drink 1-2 cups a day, that’s it. A bitter morning pause with the newspaper – makes me wake up and smile ; )
TIP! A homemade vanilla syrup = a perfect host/hostess gift! LINK for recipe below ; ) ↓
Would I love to have that kitchen???! OH YES!
I’m more into a bitter-sweet cup of Joe and salty crisp starters, than sweets and desserts. Makes this iced mocca recipe perfect for me. The homemade syrup does a good job for a hot cup as well ; )
I’m not a huge Diet Coke fan BUT BUT I’m a fan of their branding. How Coca Cola always find a new way to catch our attention. They never ever just sits lazy down enjoying their heavy market position. This is their latest campaign: the iconic bottle wrapped in the most talented designer Jonathan Anderson’s(past at Prada – now own label in London) cool graphic textures & photos. Must have. Just for the touch’n’feel of it.
One of my favorite food storytellers is photographer and blogger Eva. I dream away every time I go visit her blog Adventures in Cooking – wauuuuu… those settings, that light, all that mmmm…. so yummi food and recipes. Love it all.
The summer is all over Copenhagen right now but I’m sitting inside by the computer again and working. I had the most wonderful and most relaxing holiday in years in July. Weeks in Provence was like a cleanse and now I’m back sitting by the desk in the studio I will keep on having the “cleanse healthy” feeling. Salads are all over but sometimes I need some alternative veggie recipies.
I found my juicer in the back of the kitchen and bought GREEN KITCHEN STORIE’s Smoothies mini e-book (released this summer). Love the yummi healthy veggie and fruity choices – the layout, all the pics are soooo edible (drink’eble!) and the 14 colorful inspiring recipes are Summer in a glas with a straw – boosted with vitamins. Easy. Cleansing. I like ;o)
My favorite smoothie for breakfast or a quick “meal” in the afternoon is the Vegetable Garden. Look above: what a color! Sometimes I make it with one squash instead of cucumber! Recipe is at Page Five in the book. ENYOJ!
Greens Kitchen SMOOTHIES e-book 2,99$ – ENJOY it here.
