I am a big fan of completely simple dishes with seasonal products. Therefore, it’s time for one of my favorite desserts, a Moroccan dessert: blood oranges in super-thin slices spread over an entire plate (so beautiful!). A sprinkle of cinnamon, powdered sugar (I don’t use sugar, I like it a bit natural) and orange flower water. Or use little drops of good balsamic vinegar. Sprinkle with toasted, chopped almonds. Mmmmm… good weekend.

Finally, f-i-n-a-l-l-y, came the sun to Copenhagen. Jubiii I can see that the grass is greener and there are already butterflies in the flower beds. I found the photo of the sleeping lamb at Forty-sixth at Grace by Grace Harriot, the image is the essence of spring and Easter for me. Have a nice sunny day.

This week has been so exiting. So many lovely, edible jobs which soon will hit the stores. I deserve some time off so it’s okay not to do much this Friday afternoon but to spend it on the sunny side with a single glass of Sauvignon Blanc or some other girly drink. Beautiful bottles don’t you think.

Years ago I worked as an assistant graphic design studio (Sister Brandt). Once a year we went to London for the annual book fair. The senior graphic designer Sabine had a great sense of detail (which she still has!) And introduced us to Conran’s super cool decor shop in the old fab Michelin building, Yo!Sushi in Soho, Muji’s shops and not to forget Harvey Nichols. Here a good decade later I’m still super excited for Harvey Nichols’ delicious private label design with expressive B/W photos, lovely names and oh… so yummi content. So they must have a place here on my blog. The chocolate can’s boy (top photo) looks like my little Albert and he has hurray hurray his birthday today. It wouldn’t be too hard to find a similar photo of him because he always ends up having something edible in his mouth on photos. No surprise that his first words were cake ;o)

So it’s Friday and last week I started my weekend with this classic, super dry Martini enjoyed in good company with my brother on Kalaset in Copenhagen. May I recommend to start your weekend extra dry (part good Gin + part dry Vermout!), shaken – not stirred – just add some grande Spanish olives. Have a nice weekend.

It is Alberts (my youngest) 3 years birthday on Monday. So it’s about time to find out what cake or cakes we should have for his party on Sunday. The illustrations that I drew a few months ago was inspiration to sweet petit treats (not cup cakes). I would love to try out Popelinis, or make DIY S’more kits for everybody – or create a lot of colorful cake pops from my Bakerella book. But but but the week is top packed and Albert loves Jack Sparrow, so we probably end up with a daaangerous pirate cake.

The French Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasses book Nature is a collaboration with the dietitian Paule Neyrat. This co-operation makes the relatively butter stuffed heavy French cuisine, simple and light with less fat and carbs but true to the good taste. I like the illustrations by Christine Roussey telling stories about the French chef’s love for butter and facts about how to get around it.

Wauu… this is great isn’t it? So simple design, edible and designed by a member of the Martelli family over 20 years ago. The Pasta Martelli factory is producing their high quality pasta as when they started in 1926 and it’s still driven by the family. You can visit the Martelli Family in Lari just outside Pisa in Toscany, look here, and learn all about how to create great pasta.
