Winter in Copenhagen is more grey and rain than high blue sky and bright snow. Makes us go inside and make… make all kinds of creative stuff or just bake, or create delicious slow cooked meals – or “just” a iced coffee with homemade vanilla syrup on the side – This One is by my favorite foodie + photographer Eva aka Adventures in Cooking.
I always enjoy my morning coffee. Gooood coffee. Organic and fresh roasted by Simon – our local barista. I drink 1-2 cups a day, that’s it. A bitter morning pause with the newspaper – makes me wake up and smile ; )
TIP! A homemade vanilla syrup = a perfect host/hostess gift! LINK for recipe below ; ) ↓
Would I love to have that kitchen???! OH YES!
I’m more into a bitter-sweet cup of Joe and salty crisp starters, than sweets and desserts. Makes this iced mocca recipe perfect for me. The homemade syrup does a good job for a hot cup as well ; )
Iced Latte recipe – find it here.

So I have these funny glimsy square eyes from playing Skylanders with my son for hours. It is soooo much vacation time at our house this week and I have filled the kitchen with easy, funny tastings for this week. Package design and convenience mmm…food came first when I shopped for Christmas in Magasin’s food department the other day. The Whittard “Praline Hot Chocolate” with tiny, fine marshmallows oooohhh… cute design with a two layered beautiful can plus easy made hot chocolate with a decadent nutty flavour – bring it on! The instant flavored coffee taste good… I actually did not expect it to (BUT had to taste it!). I’m not into coffee syrups, sucker sweetness in my coffee and bought a smooth vanilla (thinking it was less sweet and flavored!?) and I was surprised I liked it. It is not freshly ground espresso (Sherlock!) but it works as an easy instant and it keeps my eyes mild round and my fingers from the cookie jar to day (I had my share of sweets + cookies the past three days!) and no weird sweet after taste. Have a nice relaxed and tasteful Holiday out there.

I’m just about to make pizza crusts. Homemade pizza are the kids’ favorite (surprice!). All toppings are carefully chosen not to let anybody down: parma + gorgonzola for the adults, parma and homemade tomato sauce for the kids. Lots of good cheese! Plus loads of hot chili on mine! We always use the recipe for the crust from the danish brothers Harder’s cookbook Cusina Italiana it is so easy, makes the best crust ever! Which makes the pizza totally authentic, south Italian thin, crunchy and mmmmmm… Found the kitchen illustrations on Etsy – which made me take this blog + mocca break. Springtime is full of energy and very busy here at my studio and I really need to remember to take small breaks to clear my mind. I relax when I cook or with a good steamy cappuccino so I’m off now: outside, sitting in the sun for 10 min. with a nice cup of mocca. Have a break with Ana’s edible illustrations here.
I have a client which I have made a whole bunch of design for which includes a cupcake! I’ll show you the design when it is ready. We needed a picture of a very specific cup cake, and Mariam Mistry the owner of Serenity Cupcakes made it for us. While the special designed cupcake is posing in front of a camera bought some extra fine Serenity cupcakes here at home (the above picture) full of banana, butterflies and shiny pearls = a Banana Bumblebee and a Liquorice Devil with liquorice powder and creamy topping. Mmmmm… smells a bit like summer to me. Cannot wait to show the kids! Visit Serenity Cupcakes in Copenhagen right here.
Fall is all over and these stylish carafes in great colors and designs can keep your tea and coffee on a hot and stylish level, find them all here at Alfi’s website.
